  • 3 pounds pork ribs
  • sea salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

BBQ Sauce

  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • Preheat the Sharp SuperSteam+ Built-In Wall Oven to Steam Cook. See instructions below on how to prepare ribs without a steam oven.
  • Add the ribs to a lined baking tray, and season them generously with salt and pepper.
  • Steam the ribs for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Take the ribs out of the oven, and change the oven setting to preheat on Steam/Grill.
  • Brush the ribs with the BBQ sauce, coating them thickly. Grill the ribs for 10 minutes. Reset the oven to Steam/Grill. Brush another layer of sauce on the ribs, and then Grill them for another 10 minutes.

BBQ Sauce

  • Add all the ingredients to a saucepan, and whisk to combine.
  • Heat the sauce over medium heat, and bring to a low simmer. Reduce by about half, which will take about 10 minutes.

Replace the vinegar based South Carolina style BBQ sauce with your favorite jarred sauce to save time.
If you're wanting to grill ribs outdoors, use the Sharp SuperSteam+ Built-In Wall oven to first steam the ribs, and then finish them on an outdoor grill instead of browning them in the oven.
Cooking Ribs without a Steam Oven:
1). Add the ribs to a large pot of boiling water, and simmer them for 30 minutes. Take the ribs out and pat them dry. Season them generously with salt and pepper.
2). Make the BBQ sauce as described above. Brush ribs generously with the sauce.
3). Preheat oven to broil, or your outdoor grill on to high, and broil or grill your ribs for about 10 minutes.
4). Brush cooked ribs with more BBQ sauce, if desired.
