It’s time to give thanks, and one of the things I am thankful for is knowing how simple it is to make my own condiments.
Making condiments at home lowers your exposure to a variety of toxins found in plastic containers and tin cans.

Cranberry sauce takes like 5 minutes to make. It’s so insanely simple, that once you try it, you won’t be tempted to go back.
What You’ll Need
- Fresh Cranberries
- Maple Syrup
- Orange Zest (or orange juice and zest, OPTIONAL)

How to Make Cranberry Sauce with Maple Syrup
Step 1: Add cranberries, water, and maple syrup to a saucepan. Heat over medium heat and bring to a boil. Allow to boil for about 3 minutes, until the cranberries have “popped.”
Step 2: If desired, squeeze in some fresh orange juice and grate some orange zest into the cranberry sauce. Mix, and chill prior to serving.


How to Store Leftover Cranberry Sauce
Once the cranberry sauce has fully cooled, store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 10 days.
Cranberry sauce can be frozen. Place it in a freezer safe container and freeze it up to 3 months. Save your leftover Thanksgiving cranberries for your Christmas turkey dinner!

- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/3 cup water
- orange for orange juice and zest, optional
